One of our main projects for 2019 is to bring a continual source of clean water to the rural community of Gituamba Farm, which is on the outskirts of Bahati.
The former group of refugees that settled in Gituamba Farm have been struggling to get a good, clean, sustainable water supply. Currently, the water to the community is being piped in from a reservoir which is often quite low. The water flow to the community is inconsistent and sometimes does not flow for several days. When it does, it is unclean. Existing borewells in the area are also producing salty, unusable water.
Expansion International has already conducted a hydrolic survey in the area and we are planning to dig a deep borewell and provide tanks and power to the community. However, we still need funding to make this possible.
The Kenyan government has agreed to dig and lay piping in the community. So we will in turn provide a stand and community tank to the area.
At the time of this writing, we have only $10,000 left to complete this project and we are praying that everything will be finished by the end of 2019. If you would like to contribute to this project and provide the life-giving gift of clean, flowing water, you may do so below.
