In February 2026, TUYEP (Tujijenge Youth Empowerment Program) proudly launched its 8th cohort, welcoming a new group of young adults eager to transform their lives. Just three-months later, 25 students have proudly graduated the program equipped with confidence, purpose, and the skills to take their next steps in life.
TUYEP empowers youth transitioning from high school to adulthood through life skills, digital literacy, and business training. Each day begins with Bible study, grounding every lesson in faith, scripture, and purpose. This spiritual foundation led 12 participants to give their lives to Christ, a powerful milestone in their personal and spiritual journeys.
“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit - fruit that will last - and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you” John 15:16
The graduation ceremony, themed “No Turning” (John 15:16), brought together 186 attendees, including graduates, parents, Expansion International staff, and community leaders, all celebrating transformation and hope. Leaders commended the program’s impact and encouraged graduates to become beacons of discipline, faith, and service in their communities.
In a touching act of gratitude, the graduates gifted 50 fruit trees to the center, symbolizing growth, sustainability, and a legacy for future generations. The celebration overflowed with joy as the community shared food, stories, and heartfelt reflections:
“I have seen a significant positive change in my son, more focused and a clearer vision for the future” - TUYEP parent
“TUYEP did not just train us, it transformed us.” - Anne, Class President
“This program has changed my mindset, I now see opportunities where I once saw limitations…” - Ian, Graduate
As the day came to a close, the newest class of TUYEP graduates stood ready to step into the world, living boldly, serving faithfully, and leading with purpose.
Thank you for your continued support that makes programs like TUYEP possible.
