What an honor it is to join this beautiful community called Expansion International as its new Executive Director; I’ve been so impressed by you all. I had the opportunity to meet many of you at the Build Hope dinner in early April – thank you for welcoming my family and I so graciously. To be part of a people that God brings together to impact precious lives of others through the love of Christ is one of my greatest joys.
Christ centered, Kingdom minded work is something God birthed in me shortly after my first husband passed away. In 1991, my five young children and I left for YWAM (Youth With A Mission) in Kona, Hawaii with the hope of establishing our “new” family in a strong tradition of serving the Lord. It was there that the Lord planted seeds of service to the poor in my heart, but what could I do? I had my very own little mission field to tend to.
After returning home, I volunteered at my local church, and as my children grew, time opened up for more volunteer opportunities. Once I married my husband Dan, we started supporting children in India. I was blessed to meet young Lalitha there in 2001 on a mission trip. When I returned, Dan and I decided to do as much as we could for the children, their caregivers, and pastors; the need was so great. I served as administrator for the mission work out of my home church for many years until 2015. What a privilege! Now I’ve been given the opportunity to serve Expansion International and I’m looking forward to all that God has planned for us to do together in the coming years.
