2025 Mid-Year Update: Your Generosity at Work

Thanks to your incredible support and God’s provision, this year has already been filled with remarkable impact, and we’re only halfway through! As I reflect on all that’s been accomplished, I’m reminded of the quiet strength of those whose legacy of compassion continues to ripple outward.

One of these dear friends was Arliss Yeend, a faithful supporter of Expansion International who recently passed. Though she never traveled overseas, she was a missionary at heart, reaching hundreds, if not thousands, with the love of Jesus through her prayers, encouragement, and handwritten notes right from home.

Her story mirrors many of yours. Perhaps you first heard about Expansion International through a friend, and felt called to give, pray, or go. That’s how this beautiful family of supporters came to be, rooted in relationship, faith, and compassion.

Arliss’s legacy is a powerful reminder of how God works through those willing to make a difference. Thanks to generous hearts like yours, and hers, Expansion International has already seen powerful results this year, impacting over 20,000 precious souls.

Here are just a few ways your support has changed lives in 2025:

• Mission Trip Outreach - Thanks to 92 generous supporters, nearly $109,000 has been raised so far to send 33 volunteers to provide life-saving medical care, essential supplies, and educational programs to children in need.

• Monthly Support That Keeps Us Going - 41 faithful donors have contributed $28,000 in ongoing support, sustaining underfunded projects and core operational costs.

• Investing in Education - 28 dedicated donors gave over $170,000 to fund educational programs, empowering hundreds of students and families with hope for the future.

• Expanding Impact Beyond our Budget - Thanks to your generosity, $35,200 has supported vital initiatives that weren’t included in this year’s original plan, but are making a profound difference:

  • Boosting Kasten's Healthcare by supplying medicines and essentials to a local clinic.

  • Refurbishing the dorms and kitchen at the Hosanna Children's Home.

  • Restoring water access and launching an economic goat-raising initiative for the women of Loitokitok.

  • Purchasing land in Kasten to support future farming and ministry development.

  • Installing community water tanks at Kiatine churches to promote clean water access for hundreds of families.

  • Providing resources for a Sunday School Teacher Training Conference.

  • Providing opportunities for post-high school Hosanna Children’s Home students ready to take their next step.

While we’re deeply grateful for all that’s been accomplished so far, there is still much to be done. As we continue serving communities in Kenya, we invite you to partner with us for the needs that remain.

• Sponsor a student: Give a teen the opportunity to attend high school. Just $390 covers an entire year of school for a student. 46 students are still on our waiting list.

• Help finish the Ndumberi Children’s Community Center: Your gift toward the remaining $60,000 will help open the doors for children and families in need.

• Equip Community Leaders & Farmers: Invest in lasting transformation, $10,700 will bring vital training to every community we serve.

• Support the Team in Kenya: Help us cover the final $84,000 needed to sustain our dedicated Kenyan staff and their operational costs through year’s end.
