The Momentum Continues: Phase 2 of the New Alumni Program

The momentum continues on the new Alumni Program as 53 high school sponsorship alumni from all eight partner communities gathered for Phase 2 of the recently launched program. Building on the foundation laid earlier this year, this two-day business skills and career development workshop was filled with energy, growth, and a shared vision for the future.
Under the themes "Knowing Your Worth, Knowing Your Path" and "Building Something That Lasts," alumni jumped into interactive sessions designed to turn their education into actionable career pathways and community solutions:
Career Development & Digital Readiness: Participants learned professional tools for success in both the Kenyan and international job markets, mastering resume writing, tailored applications, and interview preparation. They also gained hands-on training in digital tools like LinkedIn, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office to navigate today’s workplace with confidence.
Faith-Driven Entrepreneurship: Budding business owners learned to spot community needs worth solving, build authentic networks, and turn their passion into sustainable, purpose-led ventures.
A highlight of the workshop was the continued partnership with Crown Financial Ministries, who facilitated the African Money Map training. Grounded in Biblical stewardship, the session taught alumni practical frameworks for budgeting, avoiding debt traps, and prioritizing saving and giving. Participants learned how to manage both personal and small business finances. At the end of the workshop, each alum was awarded a certificate of completion, equipping them with a credentialed, lifelong tool for stewardship.
The gathering also marked a historic turning point for the Alumni Program: the official swearing-in of eight newly elected alumni leaders! Each leader took an Oath of Office and received a Certificate of Installation to serve a three-year term. For the first time, every single one of our eight communities has a recognized, accountable, alumni-led leadership structure guiding them forward.
From career readiness to faith-anchored financial wisdom and new leadership, the workshop stood as a powerful testament to our alumni’s continued commitment to live out the truth that "to whom much is given, much is expected."
Thank you for your faithful support and partnership. Because of you, these young leaders are stepping forward with the skills, confidence, and faith to transform their careers and lives, as well as serve as a beacon of hope across Kenya. Thank you.
