Shine Your Light: A Transformative Student Leadership Conference

From the moment students arrived at the 12th Annual Student Leadership Conference, there was a sense of anticipation and excitement in the air. With the theme “Shine Your Light” (Matthew 5:16) guiding every session, the event became a beacon of faith, growth, and transformation.

The conference united 152 students, including high school sponsorship recipients, alumni, and special guests, in a journey of spiritual, academic, and personal development. The most moving moment was when 16 students made the life-changing decision to commit their hearts to Christ, experiencing a renewal that will shape their futures.

Throughout the four days, students immersed themselves in worship, workshops, and heartfelt discussions that tackled real-life struggles. The conference focused on five key areas, equipping students with valuable skills and perspectives:

  • Spiritual Growth – Deepening faith through devotion and worship.

  • Psychological Support – Tackling academic pressure, anxiety, and identity struggles.

  • Social Development – Participating in “Boys & Girls Talk”, establishing secure environments to address challenges specific to each gender.

  • Academic Excellence – Career guidance, goal-setting workshops, and practical strategies for success.

  • Moral and Social Awareness – Navigating modern issues like sexual morality and social media’s influence.

Beyond these impactful sessions, students had a talent show where they showcased their creativity and gifts, shared heartfelt testimonies, and celebrated God’s faithfulness.

As the conference drew to a close, students were reminded that their light was never meant to be hidden. The lessons learned were not just for the conference weekend but for life—to be carried into their homes, schools, and communities. The event wrapped up with a joyful Certification Ceremony, honoring each student’s growth, new friendships, and the transformative moments shared.

With a final prayer of blessing, the 12th Annual Student Leadership Conference came to an inspiring close—but the impact will continue to shine in the lives of every student who attended.
