Meet the Wise Family!
Meet the Wise Clan, a 5th generation family of Boiseans and new friends of Expansion International. About a month ago, a dear friend of Expansion International reached out to the Wise family to tell them about our campaign to raise funds for clean water in the community Gituamba, near Bahati. Their hearts were stirred. Every fall for the past five years they have hosted a muffin fundraiser out of their home and donated the proceeds to clean water projects. This year, we are honored that they decided to link arms with Expansion International! The whole family rallies around this cause, but one member in particular was the inspiration for this annual fundraiser. Harrison, now 11 years old, was first moved to action at the age of 7 after reading the book A Long Walk To Water. He believes all people should have clean water, and he is doing something about it! For ten days, this family baked, spread the word, sold muffins, and raised nearly $13,000 for the well in Gituamba! Thanks to them, and all who came out to buy muffins, we were able to raise the funds needed to begin drilling in 2021.
