Kenya's Next Generation is Growing Up

The Future is NOW!

Giving Tuesday Day Of (3).png

Cliche as it sounds, the youth are the future, and the future has arrived! Around 60% of Kenya’s population is under the age of 24. This #GivingTuesday we invite you to invest in the future by giving to all things youth.

At Expansion International we are passionate about removing barriers that keep people in cycles of poverty. One of the best ways to do this is by equipping young people with the skills, resourcefulness, confidence, and wisdom necessary to take on life and make a difference in their communities.

Education sponsorships allow students to mature and finish high school. Plus, it opens up even more opportunities for students after they graduate.

Students gather for a three-day conference to hear from special speakers, bond with one another, dream about the future, and be equipped with skills in and outside the classroom.

Sports build confidence, connection, and practical life skills. We bring young people together for friendly competitions and times to hear the Gospel message.

Think of this as a crash course in life you wish you received when you were 18: managing a budget, goal setting, how to interview, and hands-on experience in the form of apprenticeships.

"We are grateful that this youth empowerment program was introduced to us. It has saved our lives and given us hope that we can accomplish our future dreams and visions.

We’ve gained helpful life skills that have made us a blessing to our community. We now know how to pursue our careers carefully, think critically, manage our time, and think creatively about how we pursue any task ahead of us. We are resilient and able to overcome all of life’s challenges.”

Do you remember what it was like trying to get a job for the first time? You submitted a sparse resume, confident that your work ethic and character would make you an incredible candidate. Yet, you received the response, “You don’t have any experience. I’m sorry.” Remember how discouraging that felt? How would you progress if no one gave you a chance? You either had to persevere or give up.
Now imagine that same situation in rural Kenya. The opportunities are few, and your resources are limited. How do you stand out? You think of starting something of your own but don’t know where to begin. If only you had support, guidance, and opportunity, you could create a new legacy for yourself and your family.
Your gift this #GivingTuesday will help pave the way for young people in Kenya to utilize their God-given talents and innovation to create a brighter future for themselves, their families, and their communities.
